Other info:The original cost of this vessel was £10,429, but during the 64 years she has been employed, her repairs have cost £38,552 or at the rate of £600 a year.
History:1837. Transferred to H.M. Government and became H.M.S.’Sprightly’, being the third steamer in the Royal Navy.
1st August 1842. Steam Packet at Holyhead.
20th December 1848. Tender to ‘Excellent’. Particular service.
30th August 1851. Particular Service.
8th August 1852. Port steam-tender at Portsmouth, Master-Commander Allen, went to Cowes with letters, etc., for the Royal steam squadron, and on her return she brought in supernumeraries from the ‘Harpy’.
11th August 1852. Sailed from Portsmouth with supernumeraries for Plymouth and Rear-Admiral Corry’s squadron.
26th January 1855. Arrived in Plymouth with part of the crew of the ‘Nile’ and seamen for ships in port.
4th February 1856. Arrived at Devonport from Portsmouth and left the same evening for Cork.
1860. Tender to ‘Victory’ at Portsmouth.
1870. Tender to ‘Duke of Wellington’, Portsmouth.
April 1886. Disposed of at Portsmouth.
